WHY ‘UNITOP’ ZED SYSTEM?
UNBELIEVEABLE – LOWEST STEAM CONSUMPTION
Our unique selection of Parameters & steam saving innovations improve the steam economy to as high as 8 kg evapn/ kg of steam. The steam consumption is 20% - 30% lower than other manufacturer. Unbelievable but True Optimum Heat Economy for every plant worked out to ensure value for money.

Optimum Number of Stages
Depending on the Plant Capacity, Material of Construction and the cost factors associated with the plant operation, Optimum Number of Effects are worked out and suggested by a computer program.

Multistage Condensate Flashing System
Condensate from each effect is flashed successively at lower pressure and the flash vapors are used for carrying out the evaporation in the next stage.

Feed Preheating system
When Feed is cold & has to enter the Stage which is at high Temperature, a lot of Steam is consumed to heat the Feed upto Boiling Point. In our plant Feed is heated by Evaporated vapors in countercurrent fashion, bringing in substantial savings in steam.

Thermo compressor (TVR)
Thermo – Vapor – Compressor is used to recycle vapors from one of the effects to the first effect calandria by using motive force of High Pressure steam, thereby saving Live Steam.
 
FLEXIBILITY IN PLANT DESIGN
UNITOP designs tailor – made systems to suit customer’s needs & the local conditions like fuel prices, quality of water & the space constraints.

Our plant can generate hot water at such temperature that all of it can get consumed. In which case, generation of Hot water can recover the cost of steam supplied to evaporation plant, making effluent evaporation virtually Free!

In case of hot water generated cannot be consumed, we have options! UNITOP’s unique feature – Adiabatic Evaporator utilizes the exhaust vapor from the last stage. This also reduces Steam consumption significantly.

CONDENSATE QUALITY
Demisters provided in Flash Vessels ensure good quality of condensate with TDS below 100 ppm, much to the liking of Pollution Control Board.

PROCESS OPTIMISATION
Depending on the process conditions, we design proper circuitry to optimize the Corrosion conditions and resultant Material of Construction. Forward Feed is selected when Concentrate at high temperature is highly corrosive. Backward Feed is selected when Concentrate is highly viscous at low Temperature. When both these requirements exist partially, selection could be; Mixed Feed.

MODERATE POWER CONSUMPTION
Proper selection of pumps to maintain high pumping efficiency results in moderate power consumption. Proper selection of type of Evaporator even eliminates the need of an intermediate transfer pump as liquid is transferred due to its own pressure difference between various stages.
 
LOW SCALING TENDENCY
Effects of scaling on plant performance are severe:
Scales in Exchangers - a Demon in hiding!
 
Reduced Capacity due to reduced heat transfer coefficient
Increased Downtime due to descaling operations. Can be manual / CIP
Lower Life due to corrosion from acid / mechanical abrasion  
Additional Effluent – Acid or water used during descaling adds to effluent TDS as well as quantity
Reduced Production Output - Several Pollution Boards compel to limit production output only to a level at which company can handle effluent generated.
Added Costs – Cost of acid, manpower and consumables required during descaling has to be accounted in Effluent Treatment.

These costs are invisible while purchasing and hence are missed during calculation of running costs.

UNITOP has focussed on the system designs to offer low scaling tendencies. This has a tremendous advantage not visible apparently.
